My Experience at Canva Create Live 2025

I had an incredible opportunity to attend Canva create Live 2025 in LA! And let me tell you that it was everything I hoped for.

I’ve been part of Canva’s expert community since way back in 2018 when it was first called Canva Certified Creative. In 2023, I officially joined the Canva Verified Experts program, and this year, I was lucky enough to be selected again.

Canva flew us verified experts out to LA to be part of the experience! So, let me take you behind the scenes of what it was like to be flown out by Canva, represent the Canva verified experts, and play an active role in this year’s flagship event.

Flying out to LA

I flew into LAX on April 8, full of excitement! I wasn’t sure what to expect but I knew that Canva always does things big. And, I was right. This wasn’t just a trip. Canva arranged me opportunities to connect with fellow creatives, meet the amazing Canva team, and be part of something global.

Pre-Event community vibes

So, the day before the Canva Create Live event, we also had a community event.

I got to be part of a Canva Expert interview. We mixed and mingled with other experts, the Canva team, and creators from all over.

There were fireside chats that left me feeling inspired, snacks and drinks that hit the spot, music by Epidemic Sound, and of course, Canva swag.

Event Day: Canva Create Live

And then came the big day, Canva Create! This year’s event was filled with new announcements, product reveals, and inspiring sessions from creators and brands across the globe. But what made it even more special for me? I wasn’t just there to watch, I got to help behind the scenes.

As part of Canva’s Design School Labs support crew, I helped during two breakout sessions.

• A Day in the Life: Productivity Hacks with Canva

• Create and Sell: Turning Canva Designs into Products
  
  

Each session had about 50 participants, and my role was to assist, answer questions, and guide attendees through the content. Basically, be the friendly expert in the room and honestly? I loved every second of it. It felt so rewarding to help people discover how much Canva can actually do.

What Made It So Special

Canva didn’t just invite us to show up. They invited us to belong. They trusted us to represent the expert community, support their users, and connect with people face-to-face. It was exciting, humbling, and honestly, a little emotional.

As I flew home, I couldn’t stop thinking about how far this journey has come, from 2018 to now, from certified to Verified, from designing behind the screen to supporting a global event in person.
