New Kajabi User Experience Interface and Language
Aug 14, 2022For those looking to create courses, coaching programs, podcasts, and more; Kajabi has always been the best site to do that for most people. Kajabi has helped a significant amount of people. Listen to this: Kajabi helped 41 million users access content that they wanted to learn either for their personal lives or their professional lives. Or maybe just for the fun of it.
If anyone you know was trying to sell courses or coaching programs, most likely they’ve heard about Kajabi or had an amazing success story behind it.
Language
Kajabi has now updated its terminologies about certain things in order to make it easy for people to understand. As they said themselves, “We have learned that simplicity is key and sometimes the more unique something is, the harder to understand.” Being unique sounds good on paper, but it’s a smart choice to use simple terms that all of us could remember easily.
They’ve changed a lot of terms. Let’s try to learn them together!
- Pipeline is now called Funnel
- Member is now called Customer
- Post is now called Lesson
- Category is now called Module
- Clone is now called “Duplicate”
- Blueprint is now called Template
- Theme is now called Template
- People are now called Contacts
Kajabi does seem to be actively engaged with their user base and would always hear their thoughts; even on things like this. It really shows that they’re actively trying to update things based on what their users would prefer or criticize. Something that a lot of platforms fail to do. Kudos to that!
Tabs
Along with their goal of updating things to make the user experience smoother and better is their update of the tabs. It might look like a simple update but it does make the user experience better. And it sure makes things look a little bit cleaner.
The sub-links on pages are now turned into tabs. The secondary Calls To Action are now minimized. The “More action” menus have been converted into the three-dot menu at the top-right of the page. Lastly, the preview button is now an icon; making it easier for us to spot it and use it.

Breadcrumbs
For those of you who don’t know what breadcrumbs on a site are, you’re not alone! I didn’t know about this too until I started making this blog. Breadcrumbs are a secondary navigation aid that helps users understand their location on a page. In simple terms, it’s the name of the page that you're on. Simple as that.
Kajabi decided to add breadcrumbs in order to make the navigation experience a little bit better and more fluid. It’s surprising how Kajabi didn’t have that before. It might be a small thing to include but we're glad to see it now!
The search bar has moved to the top right making it easier to spot and the breadcrumbs are displayed in the top left to help you navigate back more easily.

Sidebar and Site Switch
Their sidebar has also been updated to make things more intuitive as they say. This just means that they’re making things simpler for us when it comes to navigating. It’s the little things like this that makes it all the more comfortable for us users!
Firstly, the Kajabi Logo in the top left corner will now display the name of your site and can help you easily switch between sites. Also, the dashboard tab has been added to the sidebar to navigate quickly to your dashboard. Lastly, the sidebar tabs have now been rearranged to create a more intuitive experience.

Definitely it’s looking more organized now!
User Menu
Kajabi has now made the user menu a little more familiar. It’s a layout that we’ve seen on most sites or social media platforms that we’ve visited before. It’s great that they’re making this more user-friendly, appealing to users, especially incredibly busy users. Kajabi has your back when it comes to making things faster for you!

Oh and also, doesn’t that look better now?
Dashboard
Whatever Kajabi did to the other sections of the site, it also did with the dashboard. Now Kajabi has made it so that your dashboard is cleared of all the unnecessary clutter that had always been a sore in your eye. As you can see, it’s now organized, minimal, and oh so pleasing to the eye.

The recent changes in Kajabi are well appreciated by its users. As always, Kajabi would continue to update the site to make things better in terms of its design, content, algorithm, and more. It’s safe to say that even though the changes seem small, it is still quite useful and somehow thoughtful!
